Serving Miami and all of South Florida

Two offices, one team, and clients from Homestead to Fort Lauderdale.

Tax planning for a Florida company starts from an advantage many owners take for granted: no state personal income tax, so the conversation is mostly about federal tax and, for some entities, the Florida corporate income tax. In South Florida the biggest planning questions we see involve owners who are also employees of their company, businesses with seasonal profit that struggle with estimated payments, and owners with income or partners outside the United States. Purchases of trucks, kitchen equipment or warehouse space in Doral or Miramar are also moments where a short conversation before signing changes the outcome.

Visits are by appointment. Most of the work can also be done remotely.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about this service. For anything else, call us or ask the assistant.

When is the right time to start planning?

Any time during the year is better than after it closes, because most planning moves have to happen before year end. New clients often start right after filing the prior return, when the numbers are fresh.

Is tax planning only for large companies?

No. A single-owner S corporation deciding how much salary to take, or a small LLC weighing an S election, benefits as much as a larger group. The scale changes; the questions do not.

What does corporate tax planning in Miami cover with Overthink?

A review of your entity and tax election, a plan for owner compensation and distributions, timing of equipment, vehicle and property purchases, a schedule of federal and Florida estimated payments, and a mid-year and pre-year-end review to adjust the plan to real results. Each option is quantified with your own numbers.

Should my Florida LLC elect to be taxed as an S corporation?

It depends on your profit level, how you pay yourself, the number of owners and whether any are outside the United States. The election changes how owner pay runs through payroll and which returns you file. We model both scenarios with your figures so the choice is informed, and the decision stays yours.

How do estimated tax payments work for a business in South Florida?

Federal estimates, and Florida corporate estimates for entities that owe that tax, are paid during the year based on expected results. Seasonal businesses from Miami Beach to Fort Lauderdale often struggle because a strong winter is followed by a thin summer. We schedule the payments around your real cash pattern and revisit them mid-year.

Should I buy the truck, kitchen equipment or warehouse before year end?

Sometimes, but only if the business needs it and the cash supports it; the tax effect depends on the depreciation options in force that year and on your profit. A short conversation before signing in Doral or Miramar is where the outcome is decided. We run the numbers so the purchase is a business decision with a known tax result.

How much does corporate tax planning in Miami cost and how is it delivered?

It depends on the complexity of the entity, the number of owners and whether you want a one-time review or planning through the year with two check-ins. Sessions are by video or by appointment at our Palmetto Bay or Sunrise office, in Spanish or English. We define the scope together in the first conversation.

Can you promise how much I will save?

No, and you should be careful with anyone who does. We show you the options, quantify each one with your own numbers and let you choose; the result depends on your decisions and on the rules in force that year. The plan is then reflected when we file your corporate tax return.
