Serving Miami and all of South Florida

Two offices, one team, and clients from Homestead to Fort Lauderdale.

Florida gives many physicians more than one way to satisfy the state financial responsibility requirement, and the option chosen is reported to the Florida Department of Health together with the license. Groups in Miami-Dade and Broward also find that hospital privileges and Medicare Advantage contracts each set their own minimum coverage, which is why a policy that satisfied the state may still not satisfy a plan in Fort Lauderdale. Our team maps those requirements side by side for each provider in the group before you apply.

Visits are by appointment. Most of the work can also be done remotely.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about this service. For anything else, call us or ask the assistant.

Does Overthink sell the insurance policy?

No. We are not an insurance agency. We help you define what you need, gather quotes from insurers, prepare the applications and manage the paperwork; the policy is issued by the insurer you choose.

What liability insurance does a medical practice in Miami need?

Medical practice liability insurance in Miami usually means professional liability for each provider, often entity coverage for the practice itself, and general liability for the premises that landlords and some payers ask for. What each provider in the group needs depends on the specialty, the procedures performed and what your hospital affiliations and health plan contracts require.

What is the difference between individual and entity coverage?

Individual coverage protects each licensed provider for their own professional acts, while entity coverage protects the practice as a business when it is named in a claim. Many groups in South Florida need both, and we help you see where they overlap.

What is the Florida financial responsibility requirement for physicians?

Florida requires many licensed physicians to show financial responsibility for claims, and the state accepts more than one way of meeting it, including a policy or certain alternatives that are reported with the license. We explain which option each provider in your group is using and whether your payers accept it.

What documents will the insurers ask for?

Typically each provider's Florida license, CV, board certifications, claims history and procedure list, plus the entity's Sunbiz record. We collect them once and reuse the file for every quote.

How much does medical practice liability insurance in Miami cost?

Premiums are set by the insurer based on specialty, procedures, patient volume, claims history, coverage limits and the county where you practice. We do not set or quote prices; we gather the quotes from several insurers and explain the differences side by side in the first conversation.

Do health plans require a specific level of coverage?

Many plans and hospitals in Miami-Dade and Broward set minimum limits as a condition of provider credentialing and network contracts. We map those minimums for each provider before you apply so the policy you buy satisfies the plans you want to join.

Can you review the policies our group already has?

Yes. We build an inventory of current policies, limits, renewal dates and who is covered, and flag overlaps or gaps such as a new provider not yet added. If you are also contracting with health plans, we align the certificates of insurance with what each plan asks for.
