Serving Miami and all of South Florida

Two offices, one team, and clients from Homestead to Fort Lauderdale.

South Florida's economy runs on independent work: real estate agents, drivers, contractors, consultants and seasonal tourism jobs where nobody withholds tax from the check. That is why so much of the personal tax planning we do in Palmetto Bay and Sunrise is about estimated payments and keeping records that hold up. We also see many households with income or property abroad, which changes the planning conversation, and we hold it in English or Spanish.

Visits are by appointment. Most of the work can also be done remotely.

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about this service. For anything else, call us or ask the assistant.

What is tax planning and how is it different from tax preparation?

Preparation reports what already happened. Personal tax planning in Miami looks ahead: adjusting withholding, timing income and expenses, and organizing records during the year so the return is accurate and you are not caught off guard. It is the work between one filing and the next.

Who needs tax planning in South Florida?

Mostly people whose tax is not handled automatically by a paycheck: real estate agents, drivers, contractors, consultants, landlords and anyone with a second income. Couples with two salaries, a mortgage and children also benefit, because their withholding is often set wrong. We review your last return and tell you whether planning will change anything for you.

I am self-employed. Do I really need to make estimated payments?

If nobody withholds tax from what you earn, the IRS generally expects payments during the year rather than one lump sum at filing time. We calculate a reasonable estimate based on your actual income, show you how to pay it and adjust it as the year goes on.

What do I need to bring to a tax planning session?

Your last federal return, your income so far this year (pay stubs, 1099s, business or rental records), your current W-4 if you are employed, and a note of anything that changed or will change: a new job, a marriage, a child, a property, a move. With that we project where you stand.

When is the best time to start planning?

Any time. The most useful moment is right after you file, or as soon as something changes: a new job, a new rental, a business, a marriage or a move. Starting late in the year still helps, because there are usually adjustments that can be made before December 31.

How much does personal tax planning in Miami cost?

It depends on how many income sources and events we need to plan around: one self-employed income is simpler than a household with a rental abroad, investments and a business start-up. We explain the scope and what you receive in the first conversation, before any work starts. Contact us

Do you plan taxes for people with income or property in another country?

Yes. Many of our clients in Doral, Coral Gables and Weston receive income from abroad or own property there, and that changes what the return must report and when. We include those items in the plan and, when the return is due, we can prepare your individual tax return with the same information.

Can I do this remotely, and in Spanish?

Yes to both. Planning sessions take place at our Palmetto Bay or Sunrise office or by video call, in English or Spanish, and you receive a written summary either way. If your goal is broader than taxes, our personal financial planning service builds the budget and savings side of the same picture.
